Gone but Now Resurrected: Clinton's Deleted Emails

FBI HAS BEEN EASILY ABLE TO GET BACK AT LEAST SOME FROM THE PRIVATE SERVER

(NEWSER) – The emails that Hillary Clinton deleted from her notorious private server after deeming them private aren't as deleted as she thought: Bloomberg reports that FBI agents have been able to retrieve at least some of the estimated 30,000 deleted emails as part of the investigation into whether she handled classified information improperly. The story doesn't provide a number, but the New York Times confirms the scoop and says the recovery has been relatively easy so far. "We've cooperated to date and will continue to do so, including answering any questions about this that anyone, including the public, may have," says a Clinton rep.

The stories aren't suggesting that the agents have found anything classified or otherwise inappropriate, but this raises the possibility that yet more Clinton emails will be made public and that the controversy will drag out longer. In fact, Bloomberg thinks the FBI investigation probably won't wrap up for several months—perhaps right around the time of the Iowa caucuses.
