Actually, they are thinking about developing alternatives to slot1 for low level computing devices. They'll keep slot1 for high end stuff but to put a 166Mhz CPU in a toaster cost effectively, they'll need a thin/cheap little BGA held in place with a paper clip... they'll do it too. Intel wants to be in everything... I bet in a few years we'll see microporcessors in Nike basketball shoes. PC's have been commodities for over 10 years... don't you read the papers?<ggg> MEATHEAD
