I can see that for people who are looking for specific percent returns, but I'm wondering if there was also some resistance due to specific dollar amounts. For instance, $35 sticks in my mind as the secondary price. $17 1/2 doesn't seem anywhere near as intimidating even though it's really the same.

Thanks for the Intel example. That lends support (no pun intended) to your view.
