The first question tonight comes from Kevin. Kevin wants to know more about a company one of my opponents is trying to attack me with. The company is called Mannatech.

Before I began the campaign, I often spoke at conventions and meetings around the country. I met lots of interesting people, and was often compensated. Mannatech is a company that asked me to give a speech on three occasions over 10 years. They make vitamins and supplements. The previous management of the company became embroiled in a controversy about claims some of their products that were untrue. They paid a serious price for that mistake and the company changed management. I had nothing to do with anything that happened back then. They have many different products. One of them is a dietary supplement that both Candy and I take. We both think it has limited the number of times we get ill. That is my personal belief, not a scientific recommendation. Because of my three speeches over 10 years, one of my primary opponents has been shopping a story to reporters for months. He pretends to be someone he is not, my friend. Candy and I have never endorsed the company. Candy and I are not their spokespersons. I do continue to take a daily supplement they sell. I have purchased every tablet I have ever taken.
