What Boehner's resignation reflects is a party that can offer nothing to the American people but pursuit of fringe dog-whistle issues that are settled with the American public at large. The Republican congress set an agenda out of sync with America, and has accomplished nothing as a result. Its lovely to watch the disappointed base scream for blood. There is a word for this. Self-destruction.
