Most immigrant coal miners had their names "Americanized" by US Customs officials who believed this would be less alarming to people like yourself. And they were right.

Now that these coal miners, who are mostly coal miner's anchor babies, are no longer needed they can change their names back from Taylor to back to Trzetrzelewska and from Daniels to Dzieduszycki, so they fit in better on return back to their grandparent's country of origin.

Even Donald Dumpf 's family had his last name changed to Trump.
