India, along with all former British colonies, were left in great shape when emancipation finally came. They had a working system of government, education, military, and all other functions of an effective leadership in place for a peaceful transition to independence. Other colonial powers such as Spain, France and Portugal left their colonies in disarray. Nothing. Screw them! Take a look at Africa today.
