Where I'm coming from is that the ocean heat content graphs trotted out to show that most global warming is occurring in the deep ocean isn't based on measurement. We don't have the measurements to say anything definitive about the overall ocean heat content.

The Argo buoys haven't been around very long and measure less than half the avg ocean depth. So those graphs showing ocean warming back from 50's to today are baloney ... estimates from model based studies.
