There is no doubt at all that there are significant historical accounts to be found in it. If, of course, history means nothing to you, there is no reason for an atheist to care about it. I look forward to the day when I have the time to properly study it in the context of its historical significance. I've really never had the time or energy to do it, but it is something I'd like to do one day. It is not a Tolkien novel. It is not a fairy tale. That it isn't 100% reality doesn't mean it has zero historical context.
