The point is that those whining about Medicare do have the options they dream about.....to buy their own policy.

We don't have a difference of opinion here. We have a difference of fact. I spent quite a bit of time and energy looking at how to get out of Medicare a few years ago. I posted extensively about it. I found nothing. That I found nothing after an extensive search does not absolutely prove that nothing exists but it's close enough for government work, as they say. <g>

Surely there are like minded individuals chafing at the bit to sell insurance independent of big government.

Like-minded entrepreneurs might have dreamed up the idea on principle but that's not enough to invest in a product. To invest in a product one needs the prospect of a market. Like, duh! Just like you don't try to sell sand in the Sahara, you don't try to sell alternative health insurance to seniors in the US. Entrepreneurs, no matter how like minded, wouldn't try to sell something for which there were few customers and an non-receptive environment. And customers, no matter how like minded, wouldn't buy something they can't use.

So who's going to all those doctors that are not accepting medicare????-

People under 65.
