Yes - of course and I doubt we'll find out and I really don't care much.

Once an officer lays hands on you and says you're under arrest - nothing allows you to legally resist or assault the officer - even if they are completely wrong. You make your case to the judge - all you do by resisting arrest is escalate the situation and the charges. Then there's the possible payday you can win if you get the charges dropped and your arrest video gets on youtube - so I suppose there's motivation to get beaten up by the police by provoking them. :-)
