We had no rules that I can remember. It was just understood that we had to be at the dinner table at 6. I can remember riding my bike up to Hollywood to go to the Pantages Theater or going downtown to go through the "haunted houses" - abandoned mansions waiting to be torn down for urban renewal. About 6-8 miles for each. We even rode the bus down to the beach wearing a bathing suit and carrying a towel when we were about 10-12 YOs.
