And that's called "private transfer" and is not illegal.
So then gun shows do not always do background checks????

That said many gun shows also require all transfers to have a background check -

Since you want background checks - do you think the government should pay the $25 transfer fees most dealers charge to run the paperwork?
You're asking the wrong guy, I would charge a helluva lot more.....
