You seem to be saying that my Wife should not only Teach but also carry a Gun and Defend her classes.
I did not say that or even seem to say that, or something even similar. I said, "at least for those ex-military/police or other qualified individuals."

I don't want any one to be forced to carry a gun in any situation especially not in a public school, and especially if they are like your wife. So why promote such a dopey strawman? Apparently I've given you too much credit. I thought you capable of carrying on a more thoughtful discussion.

If you feel the need to promote this ridiculous type of scenario in order to easily dismiss the premise I just offered you we can cut it short. I can just discuss it with conservatives and you can just diss the idea with tejek and combjelly and such, so we can talk past each other as if that is advancing ideas. Pretty normal on this thread, and relatively pointless except for those craving validation.

The simple premise being that the institutions we are required to send our children to should be required to make reasonable efforts to keep children safe. Where they refuse, they should be held accountable when children suffer. The same goes for public gathering places. When they are held accountable for failing to act in reasonable ways, we will see a change in their willingness to improve the security of these environments. This is a fact and I predict such lawsuits in the future because that seems to be what it will take.

Where there are people who are willing and who are qualified to carry a concealed weapon it seems reasonable for Administrations to approve a system of preparedness. We don't need madmax or camouflaged teachers patrolling the halls, just activate resources already in place, and continue business as usual. I taught in schools years ago and could have identified more than a half dozen qualified and willing persons in each place I taught. No one (except the admin) even needs to know who has concealed carry on the premises, so there is no need for people to feel any different about the people they work with.
