yep, thanks--I tweaked the color in the
"Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel"
just by right clicking on the desktop and
selecting Graphics Properties.

No GeForce GTX on this baby, control panel
shows Intel series 4 chipset, I am thinking onboard G41,
heh, pretty dated!

The monitor itself is set to eye saver, and I have to say,
with that off, it is pretty awful--very harsh blue, a slight
pink cast is not so bad. I guess I am a bit picky, but
I did fiddle with gamma in the Intel settings and this is pretty
good, maybe even a little better than the placebo effect
just from getting to play with it, the screen certainly changes
as you pull the gamma slider button around for each color.
