I sent a message on 12/18/97 to with the following text:

"I am an investor in Award Software. Understandably, I am concerned about Award's recent stock price performance. In particular, large numbers of stock were sold in recent days, and I am wondering whether somebody knows something that is not publicly available, or whether this is just a combination of the worries about Asia's economic crisis and year-end selling.

"As a concrete question, I would like to know the extent of Award's exposure to Asian companies, and how this could affect Award's performance."

I got the following response on the next day from Anna Yen in Award's Investor Relations at :

"Thank you for your email regarding Award Software. We have a significant amount of business in Asia, and there are concerns on the Street about the exposure. However, we have limited currency risk and our revenues during Q4 in Asia have met our internal expectations. There has been some softness from U.S. customers, but it is too early to tell how the quarter will end up."

Thank you, Anna! Aside from that, we can take some comfort in the fact that all major BIOS companies saw their stock prices slide.

I have never posted before, so I hope it comes out.
