I think he just wants to make a real difference. Saving 15 or 20k lives in a career is an accomplishment, of course -- but nothing like, e.g., what GWB did in his eight years -- saving millions. And I'm sure he would view undoing the Obama damage as a huge accomplishment as well.

That's his call. He seems to be, by a wide margin, the best candidate in the race between both of the parties. If he wants the job, he should go for it.
