I think the NRA and their lackey Congressmen are ignoring the killings.

Try adopting the suggestions of the NRA - add security to schools and gun free zones. Trying to make guns more trouble to get by honest citizens does nothing to dissuade criminals.

The NRA has actively and vocally supported adding mental health records to existing background checks - but the government has failed miserably.
