Lucky you!

With the drought here, the critters got most of my fruit. 1 cherry from three trees and one fuji apple from a tree that used to give me buckets and buckets. Racoons found the cherries last year and nets don't dissuade them a bit. I was surprised the critters, including the birds, went for the apples while they were so green... probably the moisture. Only good news was I got a lot of figs from my neighbor's tree that we let grow over the fence and my two little bushes.

My property taxes for 2015/16 payments went up less than 2%... more like 1.5% but at $10,600 a year, it is not fun to pay. The good news there is it is tied to what I paid plus inflation not to exceed 2% a year so maybe the 1.3% inflation last year and extra fee inflation explains it. When I eventually collect Social Security, I hope it pays for more than property taxes, HO insurance and food... as water, energy, etc. seem to be soaring even more.

BTW, I think HO insurance is flat or down for many due to low commodity prices which make it cheaper to rebuild a burned down house. That $1K payment is a big percentage for many so if it falls or is flat, it explains the lower CPI also.
