So no, crop failures are not more likely to happen as a result of fossil fuels. In fact, they're LESS likely to happen.

By your "logic", the US is immune to crop failures. It isn't. In 2012, about a third of the corn crop that year was lost. Crop failures can occur for many reasons, none of them are related to the presence or absence of farm machinery. One form of crop failure, disease, is more and more likely. See, many crops, like corn, are genetically pretty similar. Seems they get selected for things like yield. The problem is that if a common crop strain is susceptible to a particular disease, it can sweep the country. A great historical example was the Irish Potato Famine. The Irish relied on just a couple of high-yielding varieties of potatoes. So the blight swept through the entire country for several years in a row.

Instead of just making shit up as you go along, why not actually learn something about the things you pontificate on?
