Went looking for a cellular/PCS phone on one of the busiest nights for shopping. Visited the Sprint PCS store. EMPTY! I got the full attention of the salesperson.

According to the salesperson the sales of Sony and Qualcomm phone are comparable. I did not see any Samsung phone there. The Q phone was there.

The Sprint PCS coverage is spotty in New Jersey. It is quite complete in Manhattan and Long Island and within 8 miles West of the Hudson River. I am not considering getting a Sprint PCS phone for my wife due to the spotty service. I am sure others are passing on that offer too.

However, very tempted to use the $80/800 minute airtime offer (valid through March 1999) as an alternate to my home office phoneline.

Will check out the Bell Atlantic store tomorrow. (checked there web-site last night, and in the morning I get a call from them. Coincidence?? These cookies...)
