What eats at me, is I see these problems that require worldwide cooperation to solve them, but I don't feel llike we're going to achieve that quickly enough e.g. global warming, nuclear proliferation and overpopulation.
If the country could just get smart enough to see that the liberals are the ones that have the tools to form systems that could mitigate these problems in a much better manner we would have a fighting chance.. If one reduced this whole social situation over the last hundred years or so to an equation, I think what you'd see is that the downfall of this country, has been led by the right wing beginning with Harding Coolidge and Hoover right up through the right-wingers of the 30s 40s and 50s; and then began again in earnest right after the 1964 Civil Rights Act when the South got co-opted by the right-wing i.e. Lee Atwood's Southern strategy.
So we've had the south, the most primitive part of the country by every demographic you want to point to forming our social structure for the last 45 years since Reagan. And our country has become the the example used in Wikipedia defining devolution.
In the meantime the countries with rational people like the Scandinavian countries and most to Europe Canada, Iceland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea have all moved ahead of us. We become the Dumbo's. We are the richest and most powerful country on earth, but were known more for Hollywood and Las Vegas then we are for Harvard and MIT We are setting a terrible example for the world..
We need a leader who can work with other world leaders to form world laws that can solve the major problems. No one on the right has that kind of ability. Hillary, Sanders, Biden, or O'Malley could all do that sort of thing if the could get a dem congress I think. |
