True. But it doesn't follow that just because someone purchased the product they will give an honest review. Plus the author can have someone they know (or someone they hire) buy the book, then reimburse them for the cost. There are reviewers for hire out there. Restaurant reviews are especially bad in my experience. I never take them at face value anymore, having been to too many places that got excellent reviews that ended up badly disappointing.
