10/23/15 Contest update
What a drama-filled week! One would have expected Prince Valeant’s lynching to be the final act, but as it turned out there was more ENTAtainment to come.
Meanwhile, at Friday’s close the Contest median was up 6.65% YTD (vs. up 8.48% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 3.74% YTD (vs. up 3.55% YTD a week ago), while the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index was up 5.74% YTD (vs. up 6.30% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 6.25% YTD (vs. up 3.18% YTD a week ago).
Despite quite a tumble, MOPGCW’s portfolio, up 56.61% YTD, remained the Contest leader. DANIEL’S portfolio, up 52.20% YTD and DONS’ portfolio, up 42.61% YTD, held on to second and third place.
At the week’s close, 34 of the 51 Contest portfolios were in the green with 29 beating the NBI and 27 beating the SPSIBI. The 206 Contest stock picks now have an average YTD gain of just .27% and a median YTD loss of -11.21%.
