The US and other nations will be routinely ignoring China's new imaginary territorial claims to open ocean and other nations coastal and economic territorial waters. China's claims and island building have made this traffic of opposing naval vessels essential and nonnegotiable.

It's the same with cyber warfare. If China is not willing to start WW-III they will need to back down on a large number of fronts. China's President has now discussed these issues in person with the leaders of America and Britain. It remains to be seen how much influence China's President actually has in China.

It could be that Xi Jinping is nothing more than a figurehead in China. If so, it's now decision time for China's true leadership.

China's claims are not different from Japan claiming sovereignty of Mongolia in the early days of WW-II.
