Subject: Lukoil making money Date: Mon, Dec 22, 1997 23:44 EST From: Benpub1 Message-id: We can see they're making money MOSCOW, Dec 22 (AFP) - Russian oil giant LUKoil posted a net profit of 3.8 trillion roubles (647 million dollars) in the first nine months of 1997, an increase of 1.19 trillion roubles over the same period in 1996, Interfax said. The company expects net profits for all of 1997 to total some four trillion roubles, according to a company press release. In the January-September period, LUKoil produced 46.3 million tonnes of crude oil, up slightly from 43.6 million the first nine months of 1996. Company investments brought dividends of 152 billion roubles while losses on auxiliary operations in that period totalled 703 billion roubles. In the first nine months of 1997, LUKoil and its subsidiaries paid 17.5 trillion roubles to the federal budget and to non-budget funds.
