Yes, the single payer known as "Medicare" has worked out mighty well. After a mere 50 years in existence, it is more than 50 Trillion in debt. And that is with massive subsidies received from the privately insured in the form of cost shifts.

So, how about you explain your rationale for claiming single payer for all is a good idea. Something besides, "Because another country does it." Because we all know there are a lot of moving parts in a $3 Trillion system and the variables are all wildly different.

Make the as to how the United States can reasonably anticipate single payer for all to perform better than what we now have given the experience with Medicare.

Government doesn't negotiate. It mandates. There is a huge difference if you want the development of new drugs to occur. It is, economically, over your head, but you can comment if you would like.
