Strange how people cannot see outside the box. It is not fossil fuels that are the problem. Oil is only one of the tools which is being used to inflict the change they see in the environment.

The real source and cause of climate change is the exploding of the human population. If laws don't come into force to control it. Eventually Mother Nature will. Religious beliefs is probably the biggest culprit. As it is against abortion for any reason, some are against birth control. Would definitely be against mandatory sterilization after the 2nd off spring.

Fossil fuels themselves are not the problem. It is amount used by the ever increasing number of people. Banning the use of fossil fuels would cause mass starvation. You could not produce harvest enough crops without the use of energy supplied by oil. There is nothing yet available for decades to come to replace it. Gas also has emissions as does ethanol. So that is only kicking the can down the road a bit.

Are we going to stop eating ? Beef is worse than oil for the environment. LOOK ! !

Then look at the chart below and compare it to the global warming chart. They are very much in sync.

Restricting the use of oils is the wrong approach. What is required is a vast reduction in the birth rate.
