I think when the 5th Assessment came out, it really ended the controversy. Those with knowledge of the subject simply said, "This is so much bunk."

Unless they can come up with some piece of compelling proof the Warmists have lost this skirmish. Perhaps some new evidence will be presented at some point, but failing that...
