After about 3 cold fronts sweeping across the east coast, the pattern will fade. The high will recede off the coast of Cali and allow troughs to drop down and give the west coast U.S. needed rain. When this happens, the SW winds crank east of the Rockies. You can call this "Indian Summer" for the east coast; a full expression of El Nino. Cali, Rockies, TX/OK, and Gulf Coast states will get rain. Ain't life grand!

Globally, October 2015 should be warmest October in recorded history, even for satellite data. November could be warmer. We'll see.

I'll add, global warming apparently causes droughts until there is real warming associated with El Nino, and it rains in California. Amazing! Same thing with the polar vortex. It's caused by global warming until there is real warming associated with El Nino, and the jet becomes weaker, more zonal, and displaces northward. CO2 is amazing for being a trace, invisible gas! I causes everything.
