just to add....not sure if it was ever fixed or not but stockhouse "views" used to be wrong by a factor of about 7. Often you would see something like 35 views and turns out it was really 5 unique people. Plus, all the aliases that exist of course so i think the number of views on a post in stockhouse is as close to meaingless as one can get :)

I used to think that most investors read the message boards of their stocks and listened to conference calls and interviews etc but that simply is not the case. Example being....PHM. It was widely known (I thought) several months back that the promotional leadership team was going to move a large number of shares into a Fund and they would be looking for successors to their roles. I heard them say this in a webinar, i read about it on the boards etc etc. And yet when the event happened, apparently almost the whole investment community was taken totally by surprise and the stock tanked big time - and has never recovered. So, my view nowadays is that most people have absolutely no clue what is going on with a particular stock, and this includes many of the covering analysts in most cases and that people like us reading SI or Stockhouse or whatever are actually in the minority.
Now, Insiders are a different matter altogether, even arms length ones, and I'm sure most of them have a much better idea of whats going on.
