Well, gang, my birthday is really exciting so far. My wife gave me my very own Chaebol. It's one of the more modern ones, still has that new Chaebol smell.

I haven't had time to explore it all yet, but at first glance it looks like we make TV's, steel, DRAM's, cars and fly paper. I'll have a longer look around after I've returned all these phone calls from the IMF and World Bank.

I think my first move will be to choose a new name. My favorite at the moment is "Watsung", but I'm trying to keep an open mind.

After that, I'm not too sure what to do. I could dismiss thousands of workers, slash the wages of those remaining, and close factories left and right. They would call me "Chain Saw Kev", and later I could write a book about myself called "Mean Bastard".

But I'm not really that kind of person. I'd prefer to turn it into an efficient, profitable group of related businesses. Hmmm, it says here that I owe 937.6 trillion Won to the Ministry of Finance and Orchestration (MO-FO). Oh, come to think of it, I bet we're not Y2K compliant either. Ugh, there goes another 600 trillion. Wonder if you can return these things....

Anyway, the caterer just arrived with a truckload of artichoke pizza for tonight's little shindig, gotta run.
