thread, jim finally printed a retraction of his 70% statement after 6 weeks<ggggggggggggggggggggg>
he now has cpq's 3q97 sub k market about where it really was.
here's his retraction below, i will not print his post that told me I was wrong 5-10 times when I said that cpq's sub k buiness was at best
57-58% and not 70%. Our debate just kept going on with me posting facts and his post of "you are worng" with no facts.
Even when I tried to give him an out by saying "it's easy to be mislead by news reports and they are incorrect 50% of the time.
( there was a report that was very inaccurate and another that was misleading)
To that his repsonse was " you are wrong".....
SO NOW HE FINALLY POST CPQ'S SUB K 3Q BUSINESS AT 50-60%.
Which means " he's got it right finally".

So what will be his response to this post........
I'll give you three guesses and it's 3 words " you are worng".

lov ya Jimbo...
thanks for the reaction...i mean retraction.<gggggggggggg>
here's his cpq sub k retraction below and he just made it.
You know what he left out..Cpq dominated the 2000-2500 dollar boxes
in the latest spot check in 4th q.

Andrew,

CPQ did dominate the subzero market in Q3 with around 50-60%
marketshare. However, their share has dropped to 30% in Q4 as their competitors
have prospered. There is very little brand loyalty amonst the first tier PC box makers.
HWP, Packard Bell, and IBM now have subzero machines. In addition, there is a raft
of other no-name vendors who produce competitive subzero machines. Hence, it is
extremely unlikely that CPQ will dominate this market segment.
