It is important to remember that while Darwin obviously broke ground and got a lot of stuff right, he didn't get EVERYTHING right. I have not criticized Obama for his religious beliefs and I'm not going to criticize Carson for his. Science and religion in a person are, IMO, mutually exclusive spheres which allow highly intelligent individuals to have personal religious views without reconciliation.
If you cannot, because of your own intolerance, do the same, you effectively screen out between 1/3 and 1/2 of the best political candidates, left and right. Don't be an idiot. Accept the private beliefs of others as their own.
As to 6 day creation, which he does believe in, there are no facts to either support it or deny it. In this case it is biblical, of course, but there is a definitional problem since the day would not have been defined at the time. So, while it is sort of silly, if he wants to have that religious belief it really isn't your business or mine.
I will say this much. If you think you're going to convince, even the stupid American voters, that this man is an idiot, I think you have your work cut out for you. |
