The problem with the co-op model is that it’s a back-door public option meant to crowd out the private insurers who have had to hike premiums in order to keep up with costs.

this is just as I described it two years ago. It was meant to grossly undercut the for profit insurers with totally unsustainable cheap premiums by having the govt. subsidize these not for profit coops. They were meant to put the for profit insurers out of business. As soon as the govt $$ spigot was turned off, reality returned and the coops put themselves out of business.
