11/6/15 Contest update
My trip down south included an afternoon at the LA County Museum of Art. I was sufficiently impressed so that I’ll now hesitate before saying “I’m sorry” when someone tells me they live in LA.
Meanwhile, smaller-cap biotechs had a big week and at Friday’s close the Contest median was up 16.73% YTD (vs. up 7.27% YTD a week ago). Also gaining were the Nasdaq Biotech Index, up 8.72% YTD (vs. up 7.33% YTD a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index, up 13.80% YTD (vs. up 7.46% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8.68% YTD (vs. up 6.71% YTD a week ago).
Contest leader, MOPGCW’s portfolio, continued to sizzle and is now up 78.20% YTD. Thanks in large part to CLLS, both DONS’ portfolio, up 62.09% YTD and MCBIO’s portfolio, up 61.48% YTD, had stellar weeks, moving into second and third place.
At the week’s close, 39 of the 51 Contest portfolios were in the green with 30 beating the NBI and 27 beating the SPSIBI. The 206 Contest stock picks now have an average YTD gain of 7.77% and a median YTD loss of -6.04%.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the week’s Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks.
(Foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: None
(All corrections, especially adjustments for buyouts & splits, greatly appreciated.)
Enjoy a relaxing weekend biotechies.
Peace & good health,
Bulba
