I’m confident that if we substituted the name Hillary Clinton for Ben Carson in this post, it would be plain to everyone reading it that this is a less than honest record on the subject of Mannatech. It is plain to me that Carson has been less than honest about this subject.
1. It hasn't been too clear to anyone yet just how dishonest Clinton has been. If I recall correctly, practically the entire media industry breathed a sigh of relief the day she testified, broadcasting with glee how she "won" the day by holding her own.
2. Every single thing they've brought up about Carson has been trivial. Perhaps they'll find dirt on him. But thus far we have:
- Mannetech - Carson gave a few paid speeches, but principally was hired, not by Mannetech, but by one of its distributors, to be interviewed at a trade show. During which, he did not mention the product by name or the distributor by name, but did manage to mention the word "glyconutrient" which apparently is not a medical term, ONE TIME in the course of an hour. At no point did he say, "You should buy this product." He said, "I take it, and I feel like it helps me." And he claims to take it until this day.
Whether it is a sugar pill or what I have no idea. But it is ONE HELL of a lot less than selling access for payments to the Clinton Family Trust.
3. Numerous religious beliefs -- from the idea that the Earth was created in 6 days (which is strange given that during the creation of the Earth there would hardly be a definition of a 'day' to begin with). And a statement, as a 7th Day Adventists before a group of 7th Day Adventists, that his opinion is that the pyramids were built for grain storage.
The truth is that the "Step" pyramid, the first one, is believed by many to have been built for grain storage. How that was extrapolated to all of them I don't know but it is his business.
Religious beliefs do not matter to me one iota.
4. And then there is the nonsense today, and essentially every claim against him has been shut down in the eyes of any rational person.
I don't care. I think he's a good man. And he presents a reasonable alternative to business-as-usual politicians. Perhaps he is too extreme, but that's different from being a liar or from lacking integrity or good sense.
Unless someone can actually prove something substantive against him, I'll probably vote for him if I get a chance. I like Rubio but he is too young and inexperienced. I like Cruz but he cannot bring the country together. I like Fiorina but she doesn't look to be in it. Kasich caved on Obamacare so he's out imo.
And I cannot bear to listen to Donald Trump for four or eight years. No can do. |
