I think they're horrible. But I think the right incentives might motivate them. They're not likely to be whipped into submission.

I'm cynical about Democrats -- I think they are far more interested, as a group, in political power than they are the problems facing the country. But I also believe that's because, as a group, they simply do not understand the fiscal crisis.

Listen to Bernie Sanders and recognize that he has a substantial following. That guy has no idea there's a problem. Listen to Hillary, when she says, "I am not going to allow them to reduce your Medicare benefits." I think she believes you can just raise taxes, like Bernie.

I think they're ignorant. Stubborn, too, but if you can convey to a few of them the scope of the crisis I believe there could be a way to approach it.

Just my opinion. I may be naive, but I know that what we've been doing isn't working.
