Hi Chip,

The further back in time you go, the less reliable the formation becomes, although a major wave has a more durable effect over time. Always look for the most recent large enough wave.

The one I just used is the mid Nov. low and Dec. high bisected by the the early Nov. high made just at the beginning of Nov. You will see that line gives support to the Friday selloff. I'm always amazed at this great technique.

I don't get it much more more complicated than this, it will confuse me. But, it works.

Use only the three most recent pivots and you'll be safe. You should almost always get a great rally off that line. In this case, if it returns to that line within days, it will go lower.
