Can you or someone else show statistically just how likely it is and how confident you are that it is?

Shrug. It might have occurred anyway. But it was made worse by climate change. The projection is, those places that are dry now, like California, will be drier. Those areas that are wet now, will be wetter. The models show that, and so does the fossil record of times when it was warmer.
