Mr Harry Bristman reports
Due to market conditions and theÿ priceÿ ofÿ gold,ÿ theÿ companyÿ willÿ not
proceedÿ with the acquisition of the Uganda property in Buhweju District as
reported in Stockwatch June 19 1997.
The company has decided to abandon the Riverstoneÿ concessionÿ dueÿ toÿ the
politicalÿ situationÿ andÿ theÿ inabilityÿ toÿ visitÿ theÿ propertyÿ by the
company's consulting geologist.
Starpoint will concentrate all its resources and efforts in theÿ Democratic
Republicÿ of Congo, where the company has agreements with the government on
threeÿ gold/diamondÿ properties,ÿ oneÿ tantaliteÿ propertyÿ andÿ anÿ option
agreement for 80% of a gold and diamond property in the Luiza region on the
Angolan border. In addition to the work on site byÿ consultingÿ geologists,
Starpointÿ isÿ continuingÿ toÿ accumulateÿ theÿ miningÿ records of previous
operators, including the BRGM in France, from the Royal Museum forÿ Central
Africa in Belgium.
