He didn't quit he just didn't run again. I think Viet Nam just killed him. If you're a President and you send U.S. troops to war and you hear how many of them are dying it kinda eats at ya. It's different in a World War because the stakes are so high and you know you HAVE to win or the world will suffer. When you're in an OPTIONAL war like Viet Nam you have to wonder every single day if the deaths are really worth it. The only President I know of that could handle an "optional" war and not seemed to be bothered by all the death and maiming of American Troops is George Jr.
