Woody Leonhard on the Windows 10 Start Menu ...

<< Maybe he's not very bright or his W10 is different than mine... >>

A skilled Windows programmer Woody is bright enough to have authored and published well over 20 books in the last 23 years on the various versions of the evolving Windows OS starting with Windows 3.1, and on Microsoft Office (some coauthored with Ed Bott) which are definitely best of breed. He also confounded 'Windows Secrets' with Brian Livingston and Fred Langa and serves as its senior Editor Emeritus. While I haven't had a chance to read it yet I just downloaded the Kindle version of his latest 1,000 page Windows OS epic ..

At Amazon: amazon.com

Woody is currently using and reviewing Windows 10 version (aka Threshold 2) but he has used and reviewed every Windows 10 build for Windows Secrets and/or InFoWorld starting with the original preview of October 2014.

<< I've been customizing mine since I got my new PC 10 days ago. It is easy to move and delete stuff from the start menu.... I find it quite nice for organizing my very busy two monitor system. >>

I'm glad you are comfortable with the new Windows start menu as many are. My personal opinion is that the new Windows 10 start menu is a welcome improvement over its stock predecessor in Win8/8.1 (if not Win7) and is a reasonably good hybrid of desktop and touch screen interfaces but it is not for me (for some of the same customization issues Woody references) and I'm sticking with Clasic Shell which I've used with Win7, 8, and 8.1 and While Classic Shell improves on Windows file Explorer I haven't used Microsofts file managers as primary since the DOS days well before Microsoft introduced their first attempt at one. I'm sticking with Zabkat's xplorer² with some Total Commander (TC) plug-ins.

In customizing your Win10 Start Menu along with your own customizations presumably you've used some of the suggestions Woody has pointed out for customizing it his previous October article and original 2014 article on the subject ...
