The point is your entire life will be transparent. There are people who already voluntarily think this sort of thing is a good idea, and are already trying to fully document their lives with electronics. I recall once watching a video of some guy from MSFT who was championing this notion. I don't recall his name, but he was an older tech luminary who I think was like a Fellow at MSFT, and he had body cams and microphones on at all times, basically electronically documenting his life. His goal was to have fully surround video/audio, and cradle to grave, all saved for posterity, so people in the future, could re immerse themselves in any segment of your life. He was doing this before the current VR goggles, this was 5 years or so ago IIRC.

I thought it nuts at the time, but I'm 50+ yrs old. The young will have different ideas because they grow up in a different world.

But why not use the above concept to get all the benefits it could provide in society as well?

After a bit of searching I think the guy is Gordon Bell.
