I just caught the movie 'Black Mass' the other day, the story of Whitey Bulger in Boston. He parleyed being an FBI informant on the local Italian mafia (his competition) into getting immunity for anything he did. His brother became the most powerful MA pol in the state, and his childhood friend FBI agent arranged the deal with the FBI. It was an excellent film, and Johnny Depp played the most convincingly psychopathic Bulger imaginable. It's the best work I've ever seen Depp do.
