Mike - I am a Signal user who receives the service over the FM airwaves from the NYC area. It is very reliable, even in bad weather, BUT when you have VERY fast market conditions, the transmission queue gets backlogged, sort of like water in a funnel and updates get delayed by as many as 10 seconds or so. Also, there are periodic delays of Bid/Ask updates on NASDAQ of several seconds, maybe 20-30, but this is pretty rare. The quote updates are very timely, within a second +/- of a few of my friends who are brokers.

You can get this and other services over cable, which will prevent such a problem, but be VERY careful and check that your cable provider does not switch to LOCAL programing on the channel that your data is biggybacking on. If this is the case--you get nothing (as I understand).

One question to everyone, I think BMI is owned by Data Broadcasting, is this true?

How are others out there getting there info and trading?

Good luck to you and everyone.
