I still think MSFT will come out way ahead by stalling NSCP with the
trick even after paying $1M/day, providing MSFT settle it with
'limited liability'.

NO, it has to be the KING and do whatever it damned well please.

It declares: "nothing will be operable unless we allows it to and that
is what the customers want".

Making money is not fun enough for MSFT any more. It is too easy.
Easier than collecting tax. Now, MSFT wants immortal, name
recognition for 'technical supremacy'.

Well, the HDD/memory industry does rely on MSFT to the rescue.
