Recently my Son told me he could get me an Intel processor at an exceptional price. So I decided I would fork over some bucks and build a new system. It has been a while since I built a new system from scratch with all core current high end parts. My son suggested I use pcpartpicker.com to find and select compatible parts.

I found pcpartpicker.com pcpartspicker.com to be a great resource in finding compatible parts for the CPU I had decided on. An I7-6700k, one of the newest intel skylark processors.

Any way I got the motherboard, CPU fan, 32 GIG of memory, and a 512g ssd. I also verified my current PCIe quad display driving video card would be compatible.

Yesterday I assembled the parts and all powered up and worked no probs. The install of CPU, cooler and memory was somewhat simpler than what I recall from previous builts of long ago. The ATX case is circa late nineties early 2000 ???.

I do not have any sata DVD reader or writers. So I added a PCI ide card. I also may try a USB dvdRW.

Any way I just wanted to mention pcpartspicker.com site.

Anyway if anyone wants to go with a new skylake processor, I like the no frills MSI Z170A PC MATE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

It worked first time out of the box.
