Not clear just how much we are disagreeing. My argument is not that an older GOP population is not a factor, just one of many, and likely less important than others such as generalized fear, higher levels of unemployment (Sam's note about underemployment is a key here not simply for the elderly, as well as what someone referred to as the "gig" economy--lots of small jobs rather than one large one), and so on.
