Thank you, Judi. It's a very good idea and the bonus is that I already have a slow cooker...and I have time to do some trial testing. Actually, at Christmas it's been our tradition to have goose but that's out of the question. However, in the grocery store last week I saw some frozen duck breasts. Not the same, I know. With duck, crispy skin is important and am now figuring out a way to do that stove-top. Slow cook it first, then do skin side down in a pan? Who knew Christmas dinner could get so tricky? And why do they give senior residences 4-burner stove tops (where they could easily burn their hands or set something on fire) and not an oven which is relatively safe?
